Are you an Ishmael? I was reading today in my commentary on Genesis...
Ishmael grew up in the Patriarchal home of Abraham, a pilgrim of God. Ishmael majored on the negatives, the faults and the failings and the imperfections of others. He grew up turned off to the spiritual teachings and spiritual things....
Yet the Lord loved Ishmael as much as He loved Isaac and His heart yearned over the rebellious young man. Again and again He picks up his name, writes it into His Book, then, seemingly sadly, puts it back down again...(emphasis mine)
Just something to think about are you jeopardizing your name in His book by your actions today......
