Household Servants….Housecleaning schedules

I love this term Household Servants.  I first heard about it from Cheryl at Copperswife.  This term refers to those appliances that do work for you around your house.  For instance, your dishwasher, your washer,  your dryer...well while perusing Cheryl's blog one afternoon I saw a post on another type of servant, her laptop.

The article is well worth the read, and shares about how it is an efficient use of your time to put your housecleaning schedule on the computer....

Well that got me to thinking, and once the wheels start turning, the idea is bound to come to fruition....I dug out my Flylady schedule pages...which I had stored on my computer, but were not doing me any good in a file and started trying to figure out how to get the idea onto my Calendar.

I opted to use MS Office and utilize the Calendar feature provided there.  I have the option to have events repeated, reminder notifications, task lists with check off buttons etc....

The problem I was having was trying to convert the zones to the right weeks and how much stuff did I put on each day....it was not quite as visually oriented as I would have liked.....Then God showed me another friend who posted today about a very similar issue.....Kathy was looking for another Housecleaning method other than Flylady......One of the commenters mentioned another site, Dandelion Seeds, which I thought was very helpful and gave me the visual that I needed to get things going.

I spent the first part of my day getting everything entered into the computer and I at least have a daily schedule that will take me through cleaning the whole house in a systematic order and I don't have to worry now about having any paper cluttering my counter or a bookshelf or anything....it is right here...

So thank you ladies for your inspiration and help in getting me on the right track in another area of my life!!

Your Philosophy is Showing

Nancy Leigh DeMoss: Movies, magazines, and billboards give us a philosophy of fashion, and it's usually quite a bit different from God's point of view. Take a minute and compare the world's philosophy . . .

"Beauty is mostly on the outside."

Nancy: . . . with God's idea.

"Beauty is internal and spiritual."

"Your body is your identity."

"Your body is a templeit houses your soul."

"Your body belongs to you and no other."

"God made you. Your body belongs to Him."

"If you've got it, flaunt it!"

"Show humility and modesty."

"Don't cover it up. You've got to draw attention to yourself."

"Draw attention to the spirit and heart."

Nancy: What do your clothing choices say about what you believe? Are you being more influenced by the world's philosophy, or does your appearance reflect God's heart?

"What you wear reflects your heart."

With Seeking Him, I'm Nancy Leigh DeMoss.

If you thought this little nugget was worthy of mulling over in your thoughts, there is a wonderful in-depth article posted on her website here it starts on that date and continues for several more days.  This has been one of the best all-time articles I have seen written about Modesty and it is from the point of view of where your heart is.  Enjoy!!

Chinese Lemon Chicken

Lemon Chicken~~This has to be one of my favorite Chicken recipes to fix now that I have my own family.  My mom used to fix this as a child growing up.  She had taken a series of classes at the local community college on learning to cook Chinese Food and this was one that she perfected.  We would all sit down and practically gobble it up and there were never enough left overs.  Now with my own family, I enjoy seeing my children get excited when we get to have this for our meal as well.

1 package boneless skinless chicken breasts cut in half lengthwise

Batter:

1/2 cup Bisquick

1/2 cup cornstarch

1/2 cup Ice Water

Lemon Sauce:

1/4 cup butter

1 cup water

1 T. Cornstarch

2 lemons or 2 T. of lemon juice

2 T. sugar

Coat slices of chicken in the batter mixture.  Place in a large skillet pan with about a half inch of olive oil on Medium heat.  Cook about 3 minutes per side until l chicken is past the pink stage in the middle and a nice light brown color on the batter.

Cook Lemon Sauce mixture till thickened and translucent.  Slice chicken and arrange on Platter.  Pour hot lemon sauce over the meat.  Garnish with lemon slices and parsley serve immediately.
